Dr. Joy Lawson Davis is an internationally recognized scholar, author, consultant, and advocate whose work has transformed gifted education through a focus on equity, excellence, and culturally responsive practice.

 

With more than four decades of leadership spanning K–12 education, state policy, higher education, research, and professional learning, she has become one of the most influential voices advancing opportunities for historically underrepresented gifted learners.

Her scholarship, publications, and professional leadership have helped shape national conversations regarding gifted learners of color, twice-exceptional and thrice-exceptional students, family engagement, and culturally responsive identification and programming practices. She has delivered keynote presentations and professional learning experiences throughout the United States and internationally.
