📗“Change cannot happen in isolation—it must be a coherent part of the strategic direction of the school or district” (Horsley et al. 2010).
📝Differentiated instruction was the topic of my most recent facilitation with a local middle school faculty(50), courtesy of Raquel Talley, Ed.D.. A few gems from our time together:
💎 Differentiated instruction is a proactive planning process that is inclusive of all students
💎The critical importance and impact of timely student feedback
💎Quality rubrics can cultivate student agency
🤞🏾My hope is that the collaborative planning that the teachers took part in (with the session case studies) will spill over into next year’s planning processes. This kind of adjustment requires more learning and engagement, but again I was amazed by the faculty’s focus and rich discussions at the end of a hot day and long school year.
✨ The work doesn’t stop.
